Because many of have asked: 09. April 2021, It was the first sunny day after a snowstorm which brought 20-30 cm of fresh snow. I wanted to ski a line which I had in mind for such a long time. The face looked a bit wind effected but I studied it a few days before and trough comparing it with my pictures I knew that the amount of drift snow can’t that big. The connection to the old snow layer was very weak but I knew that the riders left side of the spine is kind of a safe zone in terms of the amount of possibly moving snow. In the end this left side saved my ass. It definitely wasn’t the safest day for doing such things but I felt confident enough to handle the worst case scenario. Also the temperatures where about to rise the next day so it was the classic now or never situation. If you want to ski bigger stuff in decent snow, there are no safe days. It’s about the fine line of judging dangers, experience and skills. Still thankful I made it out there! 🙏🏼
